International Primary Curriculum (IPC)
The IPC is a topic based curriculum. At SRS we choose the most suitable topics for your children. This is done across the whole Primary School to make sure there is balance and progression year after year.
Learning is active and often involves discussion, research, computer analysis as well as reading and writing.
Children are encouraged to present their ideas more often and to provide evidence to support their findings or opinions. These are the type of skills that they will need in the future.
One of the biggest successes of the IPC is that it allows us to invite parents to a range of events and meetings which increases your involvement in the learning process. Children adore the chance to present their work to parents, teachers and students and these type of learning opportunities develop so many different skills. Many students have commented on the large events we hold as being the most memorable and exciting thing about school.
Here are some boys explaining their learning to the Principal, Ms Nan.

An eager parent looks on as he is shown the volcanoes that were made by Year 4 as part of their topic. Here we have design, science theory and presentation skills all being used by one event. |
